Abstract

Proyek pengabdian masyarakat bertajuk “Kampanye Membaca Bersama dan Pelatihan Bercerita untuk Meningkatkan Literasi dan Ikatan Keluarga di Masyarakat” ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan literasi keluarga dengan memberdayakan orang tua dengan keterampilan membaca nyaring dan mendongeng yang efektif. Inisiatif ini mengatasi hambatan umum seperti terbatasnya kemampuan orang tua dalam bercerita, kurangnya waktu, dan kurangnya akses terhadap buku anak-anak yang menarik. Dengan melatih orang tua dalam teknik bercerita yang menyenangkan dan interaktif, program ini mendorong praktik membaca bersama yang tidak hanya meningkatkan kemampuan membaca anak-anak tetapi juga memperkuat hubungan emosional antara orang tua dan anak. Penelitian menyoroti bahwa membaca bersama mendukung perkembangan kognitif dan bahasa sejak dini sekaligus mendorong hubungan positif orang tua-anak, yang sangat penting untuk kesiapan sekolah dan pembelajaran seumur hidup. Kampanye ini juga mencakup pendistribusian buku cerita anak-anak untuk mendorong kebiasaan membaca di rumah, menjadikan literasi sebagai rutinitas keluarga. Pendekatan ini sejalan dengan bukti yang menunjukkan bahwa keterlibatan keluarga dalam kegiatan membaca secara signifikan meningkatkan keterampilan literasi anak-anak dan memupuk budaya membaca dalam rumah tangga. Pada akhirnya, program ini berupaya membangun lingkungan literasi berkelanjutan yang bermanfaat bagi keberhasilan akademis anak-anak dan kohesi keluarga.
