Abstract

The increasing adoption of digital waqf platforms in Indonesia has introduced new opportunities for expanding waqf participation while creating challenges related to institutional credibility and public confidence. Trust remains a fundamental factor determining waqif willingness to engage with technology-based waqf services, particularly when direct interaction between waqif and nazhir becomes limited. This study aims to examine the influence of perceived digital transparency and nazhir accountability on waqif trust in digital waqf platforms in Indonesia. This research applies a quantitative approach using survey data collected from 255 respondents who have knowledge of or experience with digital waqf platforms. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire measured through a five-point Likert scale and analyzed using Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) version 25. The analysis involved validity testing, reliability testing, classical assumption testing, multiple linear regression analysis, t-test, F-test, and coefficient of determination analysis. The results indicate that perceived digital transparency has a positive and significant effect on waqif trust. Nazhir accountability also has a positive and significant effect on waqif trust, with a stronger influence compared with digital transparency. Simultaneously, both variables significantly explain variations in waqif trust, with an adjusted R² value of 0.527. These findings indicate that transparent digital information systems and accountable waqf management practices represent important mechanisms for strengthening public confidence in digital waqf platforms. This study provides implications for waqf institutions to improve governance quality, reporting mechanisms, and digital service management to encourage sustainable participation in digital waqf.
