Focus and Scope

The journal considers manuscripts in the following areas:

  • Sustainable agrifood systems and food-system transformation
  • Food and nutrition security
  • Community, public, and institutional nutrition
  • Sustainable agriculture and food production
  • Food technology, processing, quality, and safety
  • Agricultural and food policy
  • Food supply chains, logistics, and distribution
  • Climate change, resilience, and agrifood adaptation
  • Food loss, food waste, and circular food systems
  • Rural livelihoods, smallholder development, and agribusiness
  • Consumer food behavior and sustainable diets
  • Governance, institutions, and financing of food systems

Interdisciplinary manuscripts are welcome when the contribution is clearly anchored in the journal's principal field. Manuscripts that are primarily outside the scope, are purely descriptive without scholarly contribution, or lack adequate methodological or analytical rigor may be declined during editorial screening.
